The Other Woman

First impressions
Through the haze and drizzle
Standing back, away from the crowd
Cold, steely, aloof
She's the reason I'll be alone tonight

I watch her from a distance
See the admiring glances from all who pass her
Listen to the loving words spoken by all who know her
I don't understand
What makes him love her so?

I turn to walk away
The rain stops and the haze lifts
The sun peeks through the clouds
A ray of light shines off her face
I'm drawn back to her

Give me a chance, she calls out to me
He's a wonderful man
Strong, giving, loyal
He gives me everything when we're together
Except his heart

He won't give me his heart
It belongs to you
Please understand, she begs
My purpose isn't to take him away
But to bring him back safely to you
