Offutt AFB

Many thanks to Cory Miller for this one! Cory's evaluation is as follows:
The $1.80 is broken down thus: $1.40 for the meal (it's classified as a "small" meal--not a snack) and $.40 for the extra soda.
There's about a dozen total meals offered at Offutt, and all but about four are "small" meals. Variety is good, though not as good as some, but definitely better than others.
Expanded review of this meal: The salad was fairly crisp--not garden-fresh, but not wilting with age, either. The cherry tomatoes were a bonus, and the
plastic container makes a convenient shaker (to evenly distribute the ranch dressing).
On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this meal (#11 with a #1) a 7. For a salad meal, there's far too much junk food associated with it.
The best meal at Offutt, though--a #8 (breaded chicken sandwich) with a #5 snack pack--is the way to go. The next time I fly, I'll order one and send a picture.
Semper Gumby!

Cory Miller does it again! Another meal pic (and this one has instructions even a PILOT could follow)

This particular meal is a #8 with a #5 accesory pack with an extra soda. As shown, it will run you a measly $1.80 ($1.40 for the meal, $.40 for the
extra soda). It is (in my humble opinion) the best flight meal at Offutt.
To make it even better the folks I fly with jazz it up a bit:
1. Grab some aluminum foil, put the chicken patty in the foil with some wing sauce or spicy BBQ sauce.
2. Cook for 15 minutes on 400 degrees.
3. Take out the foil packet (created in step 1) and unwrap. Put on a slice of cheese (pepper jack or muenster works best).
4. Put it back in the oven (careful not to get the foil touching the cheese) for 3 more minutes. If you want your bun toasted, put in the oven
at this time for the same 3 minutes.
5. Enjoy!
UPDATE JUNE 2007
As much as it pains me to say it, Offutt is going downhill. My buddy Bob Heck wrote in with this photo of the pathetic lunch he was served.

Where'd all the goodies go???
