UPDATED 10/22/07

This update seems long overdue. I received e-mail from Tom Galvan, the manager of the dining hall, who sent me this photo of a representative meal. Although I haven't been to Moron in months, it looks like I'll have to order one and give it a whirl. From the photo it appears to be a tasty combo of health and nurtition and I'm looking forward to giving it the 'taste test'. Thank you for writing in, Tom, see you soon!!
What ACTUALLY Showed Up

Not exactly as advertised, but after talking with Tom, I understand why. It seems Moron has boxes on back-order for the last 3-months, and supplies are hard to come by so they do what they can. Their flight meal orders went from 18 meals in Nov 2002 to 6410 in Jan 2003. Ground meals in Nov 02 were 2000 meals, in Jan 03 it jumped to 27000 with no additional manning authorized to build them all.
Stuff they could have fixed? Well, I ordered turkey and received ham. One baggie was open and the bread was beginning to get stale. I don't understand the ketchup packet with a ham sandwich, but to each his own. The Juicy-Gel and fruit cup were appealing but the lunch didn't contain a spoon, so I was out of luck. No date/time on the sandwiches, so they could have been last week's fare for all I know. As our loadmaster said, "When the meals are brought out in a garbage bag, you should take that as a sign".
Update: 10/18/07
Got an e-mail from Don Karpen who tells me things haven't changed much. Here's his take on it...
Just returned from Moron.
The box lunches for all of the nine who ordered them had no drinks!
Some had no utensils.
Still have the plain ham and cheese sandwiches (2) in unsealed, undated baggies.
And still the catsup pack.
The orange took 15 minutes of determined peeling.
They did get their boxes in stock, though.
Thanks for the update, Don!
