Rhine Main AB

I received an update from TSgt Dianala, the Flight Kitchen NCOIC at Rhein Main who informs me that the Jimmy Dean pre-fab meals are a thing of the past and he included the above photo of a current meal's contents. There appears to be plenty of munchies and appropriate condiments. Can't wait to get my hands on this one if it arrives at the airplane looking like it does in the picture!

Unfortunately, what showed up at the plane isn't quite like the canned photo above. The box itself had no prep date on it, the sandwiches held no date either (and came in those fold-over baggies which open REALLY easy), no condiments at all, missing the Nutrigrain bar & carrot sticks, and the utensils were a joke in themselves. In their defense, the meal order form warned us that the options were "Turkey, Roast Beef, or Ham... SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE MADE AS NECESSARY" and no listing of the supplements, so there should be no complaints of missing items.

I can see the commercial in my mind... "Mini-Me" Flatware Set: Designed with "Tupperware meets Playskool" in mind. It's cool, it's hot, it's the best thing in pre-school dining since Crayons went non-toxic! This set contains the patented "safe-shank" knife that no toddler should get sent to the (play)pen without. Note the offset fork tines, perfect for shovelling food between thise missing front teeth. And the patented mini-spoon is the ideal weapon for flinging peas at your little sister; with a maximum capacity of two peas at a time it's enough to nail your target without getting nailed for your crime. Collect All Three!! (napkin sold seperately)...
