Sorry about the confusion folks. I tried installing the forum-based site and the database took a huge dump. I'm left with having to throw this back online until I find a reliable forum-based program.

Box lunches given to flight crews vary immeasurably from base to base, so I'm making this page to show some of the poorer bases how their counterparts put together a lunch in the hopes that it will inspire them in their creative endeavors.

It seems that the folks working in some flight kitchens don't realize that the stuff they put into those boxes are all that a crewmember may be eating for a full duty day. Unlike those working the kitchens, our duty day is routinely 16-24 hours straight, and we don't have the luxury of jumping into the car for a pit stop at 7-11 when we get the munchies on a long flight. Each lunch is rated on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being below dog food, and 10 being something I'd divert 4 hours out of my way to get a hold of). Naturally, my opinions are just that. Mine, and mine alone. I normally order turkey lunches, so wherever possible, I'll get a turkey box for comparison, but some bases offer only 2 choices (you either want one or you don't). With each trip I go on, I'll be adding descriptions and pics of the contents, so check back every so often...

Got a picture or info on a base not listed here? e-mail me!!
